PALS STAFF

Founder and Director Phil Rose has been a professional soccer teacher since 1990. Over the years he has trained players of all abilities, from YMCA right through to professional players.

He has been invited to be a guest clinician in 10 countries as well as being invited to soccer events in over 35 countries. He holds 6 National Licenses or Diplomas and is deeply committed to training players at the most crucial stage of their lives, the ‘early discovery years’.

In addition to soccer, Phil is certified to teach Speed Training and is a qualified Personal Trainer. He has an extensive soccer background, with over 35 years of soccer experience as a player, coach, teacher and soccer fitness expert.

He is a featured author in several books, newspapers and soccer journals. A Coach Educator and Mentor, he is currently a Florida Youth Soccer Association Staff member, ODP Coach and serves as the NSCAA State Technical Director for Florida (West). He has experience in Club soccer as Head Coach, Head trainer, Director of Coaching and Academy Director.

Steve O Neil is a native of Newcastle, in the North East of England and brings over 20 years of coaching experience in the USA and Europe to our camps.

He played semi professionally in the United Kingdom for eight years.

The holder of an English FA Youth Badge and Psychology of Soccer Certificate, Italian FIGC Diploma, NSCAA National, Regional, State, Goalkeeping Premier Level and High School Diplomas. He is also a certified USSF Referee.

From 2000-03 he was the Primary Assistant Coach for the W-League Hampton Roads Piranhas, the 2003 W-League National Champions.

O Neil spends his spare time traveling around the world checking out youth academies and bringing the knowledge back to PALS. He has been published in the journal World Class Coaching.

Steve is also a Director of Coaching for the Virginia Rush Soccer Club based in Virginia Beach.
